Heir Island

Heir (Hare) Island Sailing School

The sailing school (formerly Camp Roaringwater) is a residential and day facility catering for all ages and abilities. Courses are normally run in accordance with Irish Sailing Association curriculum but may be tailored to a group’s own needs. Families are particularly welcome where the joint learning experience is of extraordinary value. The facility is purpose built nestling on an island in Roaringwater Bay with some of the safest and most beautiful sailing waters in the world. A maximum of 18 sailors are catered for with the 2 person Topaz dinghy and 3 / 4 person Dublin Bay Mermaid and a fleet of kayaks when weather is not suitable for sailing.
